Many of you have been asking how my trip to Europe was.... well HERE it is!! P.S. this is the long version so have fun reading it ALL lol :)
The trip started off well with a 9 hour flight to Germany. After customs, the first city we drove to was Rothenburg ob der tauber. This city is
LITERALLY like a picture from a movie. Pastel little gingerbread houses that looked fake. I was ready for everyone to stop and jump out saying JUST KIDDING!! but it was a real town... crazyy crazy. We gave our first concert that night and it sounded pretty good i must admit :) it was so funny because there was these 3 drunk guys behind us that kept dancing all weird to our music and it made us laugh a lot. After the concert, we were given a few hours to explore the city a little bit. We climbed up to this great big wall called the Townhall Tower that surrounds the city and went through a lot of tunnels and it was really neat. There were a couple of people that i was hanging out with that night, but one boy really... was... uhh.. lets say weird? FIRST day on the trip and he confessed that he thought i was really cute, and eventually called me his "crush"...... what are we, kindergarteners?! lol but it was good for a laugh. Slept at the Hotel Gasthof Zum Rappen.
The next day we woke up and drove through Bavaria, Dinkelsbuhl, Nordlingen, and Augsburg to get to Innsbruck, Austria. It was extremely hot, and due to the fact that we didnt get there with enough time to go to our hotel first, we got to play in our regular street clothes rather than our
nasty uniforms :) lol, so we played the concert and afterwards were able to go to this warehouse where we got free drinks! Aren't austrian people so nice? lol, my roommate jessika and i were the last ones to leave the warehouse and as we walked out, this guy came up to us. He had watched our concert and asked us a few questions about where we were from and such. Then he got into questions like "how old are you" and stuff, then proceeded to invite us to a night club around the corner that night that we could sneak into. We were quite tempted, for he was a beautiful boy, but simply walked away :) lol, it was funny. After that, 4 of us took a carriage ride around the town and it was absolutely gorgeous. First of all, the town was decked out in soccer stuff because... get this... WE WERE THERE THE SAME NIGHT GERMANY PLAYED TURKEY as part of the world cup!!! lol, it was really neat! sadly we had a stupid curfew and couldnt attend it! (ha like we would have gotten a ticket anyways) but that was all fun! that night we slept at the Hotel Alpinpark.
Day three was among my favorites. As we left Innsbruck, we made our way across the Europa Bridge and through Brennerpas. Once we got
there, we made our way to a boat that took us to VENICE italy!!! It was absolutely absolutely gorgeous! We took a cruise on the Grand Canal and then shopped for an hour or so in the city. Just like in New York, there were street vendors everywhere and I happened to finagle my way into 3 purses (2 prada) for 40 euros! which is even good for a regular purse from kohls or something, so i was pumped! i also got a "ciao bella" shirt that i liked. we took the boat back to our hotel in Mestre and stayed in the Hotel Park Venezia.

Friday was a very HOT day. We traveled along the Adriatic coast toward Rimini and perfo
rmed a concert in San Marino (Technically a country) and then had a few hours to explore the few streets. Funny story about the concert though. Apparantly our director, Gerry Knipfel, did not get a license to play here. A few songs into our program, a police officer approached Gerry and told him that we would have to leave. Gerry argued and argued and almost got thrown in jail as he finagled his way into 10 more minutes. Talk about a short concert, but it was funny! It was a little city on top of a hill so there was not much to do afterwards. We then traveled back down the mountain to our Hotel Granduca in Italy.
We woke up the next day to travel to Pisa Italy! Here we got to see the Leaning Tower of course! We only had an hour or so there, but it was worth the drive. It really looks like its about to fall!! After this, we drove north through Allessandria and Vercelli to Aosta. Then we got into France through the Mont Blanc Tunnel and finally arrived in Chamonix. We played a concert and the backdrop for us was the beautiful mountains!!! it was so neat. talk about weird culture there because after our concert, we were given free drinks by the locals... it was wine. lol (didnt drink it, dont fret) That night we stayed in the Parkhotel Suisse.
Today was day of days...... traveling to Murren from Chamonix... OUR BUS BROKE DOWN. it was sort of an adventure i guess..... we broke down around 9 and our driver (PAUL- BEST
DRIVER EVER) fixed it temporarily till we got to a rest stop. Here we spent.... ready for it..... 5 hours..... FIVE HOURS! waiting for our bus. We didnt get to go on our Castle tour but it was okay. we made the best of it eh?! after a long day, we finally arrived in the most beautiful place i've ever been!!! Murren Switzerland was at the top of the swiss alps and depicted everything that is good and beautiful!!! picture the prettiest thing you have ever seen... MULTIPLY it times 1o00 and you've almost got it! pictures do not do justice though! but we got there and rode the gondola up to our hotel. There wasnt much time to explore that night because of delays. So after a dinner we had an early curfew and woke up ready for the next day! We stayed at the Hotel Regina.
The next day was beautiful!!! SUNNY weather greeted us (even though the breakfast wasnt
that great... i'll talk about food later) The gang decided to go mini golfing after walking around a bit. They had some freaky weird holes! (example: hit the ball and try to make it into a net up in the air....?) so that was quite entertaining. Then we all went swimming and that was WAYY fun! after that we performed our concert. It was the most beautiful place i have ever seen and the crowd loved us. :) After we took pictures from Mom's view at her hotel. I'll try to put a picture here of it!! it was so beautiful. I can't reiterate it enough!
Sad to leave the prettiest place, we headed out the next morning via Gondola back down, and then bus all the way back to Rudesheim Germany. But first we stopped in Lucerne and had some time to SHOP! we hit up the ROLEX store and mom and i both got spoons! silly but fun! Once we got to Rudesheim, we had some time to ourselves. Our group got together that night and we had a ton of fun looking at all the different stores and shops. We slept at the Hotel Traube-Aumueller. (My Favorite Hotel)
The next morning we got to cruise the Rhine River on a boat. We saw tons of old castles and it was really neat. The boat took us down to where our busses met us in the Grand Duchy of
Luxembourg. After probably our best sounding concert in the Place d'Armes, we hit up the shops!!! So many cute little stores (but SO expensive geeesh). That night we slept in the Hotel Camanile Luxembourg.

TODAY is the day.... YES... the long awaited..... PARIS!!!!! after a long drive, we finally arrived in PARIS!! We had a few hours with our gang and we hit up Notre Dame and some other historical sites.... although they were very beautiful..... GUESS WHAT! Anyone heard of Panic! At the disco??? anyone? WELL it just so happens that Brendon Urie (lead singer) happens to be walkin around the streets of paris with his band.... and ladd mercer (part of our group) spots him and has the courage to go ask if it is him.... and it WAS!!! we talked for a little bit and got our picture taken with him. It was SOOO neat and none of us could stop talking about it! We gave our last concert this night. It was really breathtaking to be surrounded by all the trees and statues as we played in the park. Our biggest crowd was here and it was a great way to end our playing. We headed out to the hotel afterwards and stayed in the Mercure Porte De Versailles Expo. (mouthful ehh?)
We got ALL day in paris!! sadly, mom and i got separated this day :( but we got to hang out later as i'll soon tell. Our group first went to the Eiffel Tower... talk about a big structure!!! then we went to the Musee de Orsey, the Sacre, the Arc de Triumph, and the Louvre mu
seum. ALthough we walked to all these places, it was well worth the foot painnn... Once i finally got back with mom, we........ WENT SHOPPING! :) i got a high waist skirt and a VERY bright little floral dress! :) hehe both definitely paris style. Then we went on a cruise up and down the Seine River. Afterwards we went on an illumination tour that showed us the Eiffel Tower all lit up in blue sparkley lights! It was soooo beautiful!!!
Sadly the trip had to end... we flew home the next day but it was nice to be back in America. Now for some of the odds and ends parts of our trip. First of all, everytime we used a bathroom, we had to pay money!!! second, EVERY SINGLE NIGHT for dinner... pork and potatoes. whether it was potato soup, scalloped potatoes, or mashed, SOME form of potatoes. It got very tiring. Breakfast was always nasty yogurt, meat and cheese, or bread. i stuck to hard bread each time. Also... no peanut butter or ice in europe!!! talk about weird!!! everyone smokes and drinks... its very odd... but there are hardly any fat people... the cars are very very small... most people ride on motocycles or bikes.... andd.... any other odd observations? i think im out!
TALK ABOUT THE TRIP OF A LIFETIME!!! i know i just wrote a ton, but i wanted you to
experience a little part of what i did! hopefully i can figure out how to put pictures with it... we'll soon find out!!!
LOVE YOU ALLLLLLL!!!
Ally :)
